Where is my traffic for this blog coming from? August 6, 2008

I have not advertised this blog anywhere in the recent months or 8 months to justify any traffic increase, yet traffic is indeed increasing in same insane way or another. Apparently from Aw Stats a lot of traffic is coming from Google, with the typing of ‘echo’ in the key search term, this is how I apparently get 55% of the traffic I receive; the other half through the back links this website/blog has.

However it’s increasing and this month in just 6 days I’ve received 323 unique visitors and this is without advertising at-all. It’s only a very small amount of traffic however it doesn’t matter, it’s still traffic and traffic is always good especially when it’s unique. So my estimates for this month is to get over 1,615 unique visitors. It’s not a huge achievement, but as said, traffic is traffic and I hope to provide more quality blog posts relating to server management and generally blogging about what the hell I feel like, I want to blog.
But damn, I never new blogging could attract such traffic, even if small and nothing to be concerned about and it seems traffic does well in such situation where I have an almost ordinary blog! Even maybe so that this domain has an Alexa rank of just below 2 million and a PageRank of 2, it doesn’t matter at-all as the traffic flowing in, as it is, is good enough for me!
August Update
I didn’t get the 1,600 uniques I orginally wanted however instead I got 1,480 uniques which is 67 uniques more than last months. That is 67 more people than last months, not a huge achievement; slowly but surely traffic IS for sure increasing; however small the increase might be.
So lets take another vantage point and take a look how the overall traffic throughout the year has increased… lets see in January we received 976 uniques and to this date of the highest month, around 500 uniques have been added to the total amount of uniques we initially had back in January, which is a huge success. As this project relies on increasing traffic through consistency and from the results in Aw Stats that show me consistency every month with the traffic either increasing or staying around the same marginal effect.
