BasicState.com Uptime Monitor Service October 10, 2008
Posted by Jonathan in : Uncategorized , add a commentBasicState.com is another of those uptime monitoring services to which I’ve used this service since the start of 2008, and all I can say is that they service they have provided is astounding and I love how simple, but functional their service is. Recently, I got an email from them saying to promote their service and I thought ‘Why not?’, I mean I don’t have to pay for their services however still using it and I am enjoying the statistics they give me on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. (Mainly because it shows 100 percent uptime almost everyday, beside the fact that I like the information it gives you) It’s these services that you just look ‘past’, however they reminded me how important they are because they give me statistics that I need, as I can’t monitor my server, myself 24×7 however they add that little sense of security and reliability when they feed me reports.
Their main website lists the features they offer and I’ll post them here, so they aren’t a waste of time for any viewers that are reading this:
- Check your website every 15 minutes
- Get instant trouble alerts by email or sms
- Anywhere, anytime
- Unlimited sites
I like that you can monitor, more than just one site, other services you have to pay a premium to monitor over a certain limit and there are also limits put in place for you to upgrade. (Which I don’t mind, but when a service can offer it for free, I’d rather try the free version and the free version is not so bad with Basicstate!) Also another quote from their website:
You can add as many sites and users as you like. You can tailor default, backup and emergency alert schedules to your preferences. And it’s completely free forever.
That is what I like about them, they are offering this service ‘completely’ free, meaning their service is free of charge no matter what, which is why I support in posting an article about them, as I also provide a free service online and I like to support others who do the same!
During the 14th and the 16th of October, the network which hosts all the websites I hosted on my powerful server, went down, due to bandwidth providers, connections/core routers going wrong and obviously my server went down because of this. As soon as this happened, BasicSate notified me via email, then which notified me via Skype. So for my personal use, BasicState is very good, and anyone with websites which have some sort of value being up and that require your attention when down, BasicState is perfect for your needs! ![]()
