Chitika - Not so well… July 29, 2008

Posted by Jonathan in : Uncategorized , add a comment

So currently, I have added Chitika to one of my websites which is quite active, or two websites which can be seen as visually active. However I’m not doing to well with them, compared to what I was making with AdSense, the phrase “They’re no AdSense”; comes to mind. At current, I’m making around 1 cent per day where with Google, I was making so much, much more; until they said my business with AdSense was hurting their ‘advertisers’. So I’m thinking of making a transition to AdBrite, I heard they fair well with image hosts and are much better in terms of making any revenue and Kontera, I’m having a whole bunch of errors with, which I’m soley dissapointed with. I’m also looking into the viability of Azoogle ads, however they weren’t what I initially thought.

So what can I do? I perhaps will find the right one eventually, however I wish Microsoft came out with their own brand of cost per click publishing (CPC) though I don’t believe that will happen anytime soon. - Though all I can hope is that, Yahoo Publisher Network! launces world wide; as they have been in beta for over 3 years and counting. We’ll just have to see what happens next and hopefully Adbrite will be just right for me. :)

$500+ save up July 20, 2008

Who doesn’t like money?

I’m currently selling most of my websites to save up to $500 for a neat dedicated server at WiredTree.com, I’m hoping to keep some of my nicer websites however selling off some of my older websites will be needed to retain the amount of cash to generate the amount I need for the server. Here are the specifications of the dedicated server, I’m going to be getting with WiredTree:

The price of everything above would initially reach out to $251.00 Monthly which I do not want to do, thus I’m saving up to $500 to pay a setup fee which will reduce the monthly fee to just only $151 monthly. Which is something I’d be willing to pay on a monthly basis as I could load more websites which could initially make myself profit. With such a server I could start up more projects and seeing as the RAM is not to costly compared to the $15 for 125MB on the VPS plans I’m currently on with WT; it isn’t a bad deal when I can get a gig of RAM just for just $10 each. :D *Big difference I’m also thinking of retiring variable.vlexodns.com onto this dedicated server to further reduce costs.

The new server name would be called powerful.vlexodns.com, seeing as this would be the most powerful dedicated server Vlexo services would be on during the time that Vlexo’s services have been up. Since the dual cores we were back in the beginning  and to the Xeons (4 cores) which we were with along with the services of BurstNET; which we quickly left. This new dedicated server should project more power in giving a more reliable and stable service thus why I’m spending $500 into making this deal work with WiredTree as I spoke to the owner of WiredTree and he said he’d take off $100 of the monthly bill if I paid a $500 setup fee, which is what I’m aiming towards.

Seeing as I whole-heartedly pay for all the services that we provide on Vlexo alone, I will not be asking for donations and as such I will only be asking for donations if you guys want to see an improvement in things such as design and custimization of the website. - Leave the server down to myself.

Coming soon. :)

Rightmedia Review July 16, 2008

I have currently been with Rightmedia for a small amount of time and they actually pay on impressions which a website can generate through ads. I’m not impressed with the amount I’m at current with them, lets just say they are no Google AdSense, however that’s a totally different system. Now I like how cleanly their website functions however I have only .20 with 4,000 impressions (first few days with them) and with also only 8 clicks. I thought I could generate serious cash however I’ve found out, that you’ll only get paid higher rates if you receive more traffic as it equals more impressions.

I have actually decided not to use them, seeing as it’s a total waste, when I can make much more with publishing services like Ebay Partner Network and if and when Yahoo Publisher Network! launches world wide; which I just don’t seen happening soon. Though RightMedia are owned by Yahoo! it doesn’t run an on the same basis of contexual advertising thus why click earnings are minimal if at all in any consideration over at Rightmedia; I believe you get paid amounts only on the certain amounts of impressions you can dish out. At best I could most likely dish out upto 200,000 impressions across my websites, however going on the basis that with only 4,000 impressions I have only made .20cents I can tell you that I won’t be making much per month.

What I do like about Rightmedia is the the advertisements ads they offer, they sure are click-able however it’s a shame that is not a factor e.g. click rates. - As I would do pretty well with getting legitimate clicks on a frequent basis, considering the facts of how many legitimate clicks I had with Bidvertiser and also Adsense.  Furthermore, these are the types of ads you can have with Rightmedia:

(Above images have been re-scaled; click for correct size)

As you can see the images above or ‘advertisements are quite clickable, as they entice you to click the ads which I guess you don’t get much, seeing as this system is all impressions based. Even though there is no click through rate, I guess this service would be pretty good for a website which had in the hundreds of thousands, then you would most likely be getting paid some decent cash.

FunnImaging.com - New Project July 2, 2008

What is FunnyImaging.com?

FunnyImaging.com is a website where people can view ‘funny’ images, which is the intended purpose of the website, users can even upload their own funny images; which of course get approved by admin(s). The website is intended just for a laugh and we hope you enjoy the images displayed on the website as there are quite a few of them, so if you have any funny images, make sure you upload it to funnyimaging.com, we are waiting for you!

It’s my new project, I’m working on, I’m thinking of building up and advertising a portfolio of websites and this is one of them I’d be happy to advertise. Though I do need to add more decent images and perhaps a blog which explains what the website is about with RSS feeds linking from the mainpage to the actual blog. It’s only something which I wanted to start up and it seems like a fun kind of website to run and especially an extremely easy one at best. :)

Below is just one of the images which we have up and running:

There are a few sexy one’s as well, but no naked/porn kind of stuff, however some of the images are just funny; thus why it’s called Funnyimaging.com. - I also thought I made a good choice in picking the domain name and was surprised why it wasn’t already registered. I’m going to try and raise it’s pagerank and see how much it fetches in auction. - Hopefully I’ll be able to earn some side cash via Google AdSense as I’m actually doing pretty well with it.
