Good sites I’ve come across January 20, 2007

I’ve just come over some pretty good free script sites. These are actually decent scripts, these are scripts that are made in the functionality that they’re going to be free. It’s as if, the developer of these scripts have actually made decent scripts, which are worth paying for; as the functionality of these scripts are just great as well as the user/admin interface.

These are decent script sites, which offer decent scripts that do not need mass editing, unless you want to change the appearance of these scripts. But I just came accross these, and I fought what nice people to offer these wonderfully coded scripts for absolutely no price. - It really inspires me to start training at php/mysql coding, seeing as you can make all these wonderful things in your free time; for free. ;) I’ll be using one of these scripts for my website: keeperscafe.com, and what you see on keeperscafe now is nothing, it’s just a CMS script I was testing out, but I’ll be uploading something nice on keeperscafe.com. :)

My Design has now been coded, I’m happy with what it looks like, but it needs to look more busy. - First I need to get the site ‘coded’ more with intergrating an upload script to the site itself. I also need to find a domain name which would suite the site, it’s a .org; seeing as most ‘good’ file hosting domain names are taken - which is quite annoying - as they’re only registered for investment purposes and are not being used for development purposes…then they’ll sell these domains for a lot of money.

Anyways, I need to think of a filehosting domain name that would suite my design…I was thinking of multifile.org or multifiling.com - seeing as the system uses 3 way upload e.g. mp3, video and images - it’s one smart design. I’m going to be investing quite a bit of money from this site, and see how it pulls in with Mr. AdSense. If anyone can help, please contact me.

Yahoo Publisher Network! - When is it going Worldwide? January 18, 2007

Every webmaster is waiting for YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) to come to their specific Country; so have I. I’ve heard that the rates that YPN pay out is far superior to AdSense (Google AdSense). The question that everyone is asking (specifically in the International Countries other than the United States), when is Yahoo going to go Global? Yahoo haven’t currently released any data of when they’re going to release YPN globally; so people (webmasters) are taking bets on when they’re going to release YPN worldwide…some say this year…in 2006, people said they were going to release it on New Year. Another question to consider is that, are they going to release worldwide?

Current Publishers of YPN; from the united states, are only allowed to have clicks coming from no other International Country but the United States! - Which kind of indicates something, where they will not be releasing YPN worldwide. In my honest opinion I do believe that YPN is coming over globally or if not to my Country (United Kingdom), seeing as Yahoo is half owned by a British Company (British Telecom; BT), in which they may make the choice to overrule any statements that say they’re not going worldwide or even international in some Countries. I’m hoping YPN will come soon, AdSense is alright for me at the moment, but it would be nice to experiment with another high roller such as YPN. I’ve heard fantastic reviews about YPN, hopefully the good news will not fade if I ever get into the program.

My Design for my website

Above is the design I bought, I currently paid to get it coded…but I haven’t had any chance to talk to the person coding it, seeing as he is offline and doesn’t respond to the forum that I found him on…he said he’d code it in 24-48 hours…which that time has passed. The problem with these people is that better communication needs to be incorporated. I’m not just saying about him, I’m saying about everyone I PAY, I pay them and they never seem to get in contact with ME, I always have to try and hunt them down — and it’s bloody annoying and I’ve really had enough of it.

I wish I could get my design right now, then I’d have a go myself at integrating an uploading script to it…but I need the template coded now. I’m really pissed off about this, and I wish I could get this template now. But oh well, communication doesn’t seem to be around these days…especially when you’re paying an individual. - I just hate it…I shall wait…though I do have slight feelings that I’ve be conned. He seemed like a reliable person…I’m just worried that he’s going to use this unique template and code it and use it for himself. - The money I paid him is nothing compared to what I paid for the template.

Wish me some luck in getting in contact with him!

I’ve been experimenting with photoshop, and I’ve procuded the above. I’m not happy with the ‘www.echo-unlimited.com’ part, as it looks to tacky, I think I need to tone the emboss down. Anyways, I’m not a photoshop pro, but I’ll be using this signature on forums. I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the world, but I think it looks alright, I especially like the way I done the ‘Jonathan Jones’ text! I can only hope to improve by testing photoshop out :)

NTL = POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT! January 16, 2007

My Internet connection has been down for a whole say 36 hours, which has wasted my time, quite a bit. Now I have everything sorted, but I’m quite annoyed at NTL’s customer support. I had to phone the technical adviser in the end, which cost me £1 a minute; premium line. Before hand, I had phoned there Support Department, which is different from their technical department, they said that there was a network outage - which causing a problem in my area. We phoned the same number again, and it redirected us to a phone line in India, which we spoke to a person who didn’t know what was going on!
In the end I found out this premium line (which I mentioned above), and this person told me what to do and check. - In the end, we find it’s a billing problem, he told me that NTL had upped their prices - which I was NEVER informed by mail, email, phone or anything…I bassically had to phone ‘them’ to find out why this was happening. I’m quite disapointed, ontop of this, the phone bill I can predict will come to £17.XX, mainly becuase they kept me on the phone listening to crappy music - telling me they was going to get hold of the Manager. I’m quite annoyed, but what can you do? There is something you can do! You can switch ISP (Provider), which is what I’m going to do, I’m going over to Sky Broadband - I phoned them up and I recieved an instant call!

I’m glad I found the backdoors of such a large Company…they seriosly need to make HUGE improvements in support, they’re lacking with Communication, Support and they’re charging people who are trying to find out why their Internet connection isn’t working! The service inwhich they gave was sloppy.
One word I could rate for their customer support/service:

POOR

GetMyPr.com January 13, 2007

At the moment, I’ve moved the site over to the new server. But the thing is, the script has gone haywire, and I do not know how to fix it. I’ve reinstalled the script, yet seem to be without any luck. I don’t know what the problem is, but it’s quite annoying and I need to get GetMyPr.com fixed ASAP! - Seeing as I’m going to Advertise the site via Google AdWords; I cannot seeing the script is broken. I’ve contacted the people whom I bought the script from (just now) Hopefully, I should get a reply! But seeing as the timezones are different, I dont think I’ll get a reply as soon as I’d like.

Anyways, this is not server based, seeing as I checked my last ‘GetMyPr.com’ on my other website via server IP address, and the site was dead, it just kept refreshing when I tried to submit a form on the website. Before I do actually, advertise with AdWords, I’m going to get a couple pages up on GetMyPr.com advertising SEO articles and Pagerank articles!

Sooner the better when the PR script is fixed!

What happened yesterday and today?

I couldn’t login to my own server because my IP was banned; contacted support via MSN - they unblocked my IP in firewall. I was also thinking of running a proxy site, but I was told that the Terms and Conditions did not allow proxies; even on my own server which I’ve paid for…yes…this is a dedicated box. - Which has pissed me off greatly.
After I get my IP unbanned, I said is there a way of making it so this crap wouldn’t happen again, he said ‘yes’, and he whitelisted my IP address (or so he said) I make about 4 fail login attempts; which I try and discover what the real password is and the username. - The thing that annoys me, is that he said that he white listed my IP Address so this wouldn’t happen again; what happens? It happens AGAIN!
I now cannot access any part of the dedicated server, I can only hope it gets better - as of now, I’ve not had the best of experiences, but for now, I’ll stay with these people. ALL I WANTED, WAS IT WAS SO MY IP OR ANYTHING ELSE WOULDN’T MAKE IT SO MY IP ADDRESS WOULDN’T GO ON THE BLOODY FIREWALL…but it has, for the same reason I wanted my IP to go on the WHITELIST!
I wont reveal the host, seeing as the site isn’t fully developed. - But I will if needs be, seeing as I’ve had such a horrible experience. *NOTE: THIS IS FULL MANAGED HOSTING; as I and he both agreed to. At the moment, I’m so, so annoyed. I just wanted a bloody server which could run my sites…yet the server isn’t doing that for me.

I also have personal issues before this, which is why I’m so mad, I would normally be calm about this, but I’m pissed off seriously.

Dedicated server coming! January 2, 2007

Okay,

I’ve finally paid for the dedicated server, and I should expect the server to be setup in 24hours. (Less than 24hours, wait let me calculate) Actually, I’ll have a rough estimate, I’d say about 12 hours tops since when I was last in contact with this technical server guy (when he said the details would be sent; on the time he said it) But he was just giving me an ETA, in what I could expect - so it was some what an estimate. This is what he said though, I quote:

If I had to take a guess, I would say the server would probably be ready sometime within the next 24 hours most likey

Which is really good. He’s quite a freindly bloke though. I really can’t wait to get my hands on this server, especially some of our customers will be very happy, since I offered people some accounts on this server - to test it out, and also to use it instead of using the WebExtension Main Server. Also everything on the server is up to spec and date, including php, apache etc.
I’ve posted the details of the server below!
